25 December – Timetables
Though I think every year: don’t do so many crazy things during Christmas! It always turns out differently. I decided to stay at my mom all Christmas because it’s so lonely without my father and not to go to my family in law and eat. Yes, I wanted to see them: but over coffee. But I forget every year again that my family in law eat on different times. And with different I mean that I’m used to eat during Christmas at ‘normal’ dinner times or ‘restaurant’ times. But since Christmas is the same as a Sunday, they eat at 3 o’clock. And that finally means you need to get yourself a timetable to get everything scheduled to keep everybody happy (and to see everybody). I actually couldn’t care this year what people would think, but I still wanted to see my family in law as well. And this meant for me this year: sitting at the diningtable but not eating anything. But that was fine! (I mean: I wanted it that way) but everybody was enjoying their food and we talked a bit. My little cousin was dancing in his playpen and we were able to see the family, chat with them, hug my sister in-law and give advice about studying to my other sister in-law.
At home we had raclette dinner and my glasses were all greasy of this festive meal. We mostly talked, laughed and at the end of the evening I was giving manicures.
We had magnificently scheduled our timetables because we have seen and spoken to everybody, without hurting any people’s feelings.
PS Last picture are my nails with a silver glitter French manicure.
